The " La Gazza Ladra Overture" plays in accordance. The scene in which Cartman attacks Mosquito and Mint-Berry Crunch is a parody of a scene from the 1971 Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange, where Alex attacks Dim and Georgie.Lovecraft's Cthulhu arrives on earth, and what appears to be an Elder Thing and a Mi-Go, two other Lovecraft Characters from another dimension arrive on earth and begin to attack humans. The hole to another dimension causing creatures to attack the world may be a reference to the Stephen King short story and film "The Mist".He would later be seen again, and die permanently in " 1%". Though he is only a toy, Cartman has a human-like bond with him, which should have made it more difficult for him to accept a replacement Clyde Frog. Clyde Frog was murdered by Kyle in the episode " Tonsil Trouble" so his reappearance was mysterious. Clyde Frog can be seen wearing a Coon mask when the Coon is talking to Mint-Berry Crunch. This is also the first episode Bradley has a major role, speaking more than one line. This is the first time Bradley Biggle appears as part of the boys' extended gang.Jambu and Tom Cruise are shown once again when DP plans to drill a hole on the moon. The episode had the working title: "Coon 2: Rise of Captain Hindsight".Viewers would have to wait one more episode for their answers on all three. This left Mosquito, the Human Kite and Mysterion unrevealed, with Clyde and Kenny as the only two possibilities for Mysterion's identity. He was the only child having a glass of water at Sizzler instead of a milkshake, however, as Kenny often does, leading to some debate despite the change in voice. Even viewers unfamiliar with the character could tell he was not Clyde by the golden blonde hair, though is it the same color as Kenny. Mintberry Crunch = Bradley, though this was subject to question. His black hair distinguishes him, and Randy wonders where his tools have gone moments before Toolshed is shown wearing them. He is the only superhero in a wheelchair, and yells "Timmeh!". Tupperware = Tolkien, the only black superhero. The Coon = Previously identified as Cartman.Upon seeing the episode for the first time, it was possible to determine the identity of most of the kids, identified by their distinctive features or characteristics: The eight members of Coon and Friends were shown to be Cartman, Clyde, Bradley, Tolkien, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Timmy. At the time of broadcast, the identity of Mysterion had been a mystery to viewers for over a year, and this episode took great pains to narrow down the possible candidates without giving the secret away completely.
